Deputy Principal

Clare Murphy

Clare Murphy joined Learning for Life in March 2022, as an Education Quality Manager working across all sites within the organisation. Previous to this, Clare had worked as a Head of Education for a specialist provider, working with learners with a range of learning needs, difficulties and disabilities. This is where her passion for high needs and specialist learning blossomed.

Animal management, behaviour and welfare was Clare’s original career path, but diversified into teaching and managing various departments within the land-based sector. Working with learners who have different strengths, aspirations and abilities is something she finds particularly satisfying.

Clare still has strong links with the Durham/Northumberland area and particularly loves competing at sheepdog trials with her border collie.

Over the last few years, Clare has successfully led and managed staff teams – to enable them to work to the best of their ability to ensure that learners can enjoy and maximise their learning/education opportunities.

Clare states:

It is a pleasure to be working at Learning for Life; it will be great to be part of the team, to ensure that we can help to achieve the best possible outcomes for our learners, staff and organisation.
