A huge thank you to County Durham Community Foundation
for supporting us with funding – £4923 has been granted from the #NETCoronaVirusAppeal.
This will enable us to purchase Infrared scanners to check temperature and provide activities such as crafts, books, jigsaw puzzles and games which will support our Learners, their families and the local community during the #coronavirus outbreak.
Temperature Check for Good Health Project
The grant will help us support our learners with disabilities to get back to Learning for Life
and into the community by providing a temperature check via an infra-red handheld screening device
to check temperatures before entering the buildings.
This will give learners and their families more confidence in returning to Learning for Life.
As we know, mental health can be affected by the ‘lock down’, we want to make this time more inclusive and more enjoyable by filling the day with nice things to. After all we are all in this together! We would like to support our learners, their families and members of the local community who are lonely and isolated during this challenging time. Our learners will be writing cards and will be sending inspirational quotes to people who are lonely or isolated. We aim to build relationships with people in the community and we will be sending appropriate gifts, such as Jigsaws, books, puzzles and craft activities.
If you would like support or know of someone who would benefit please call us on 01207 509936 and state you would like to be involved in the County Durham Community Foundation CoronaVirusAppeal.
