Our strategy for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk includes:
- Strictly adhering to the principles of ‘Safer Recruitment’ of all staff.
- Maintaining a safe learning environment where young people and adults at risk feel secure, are listened to, and are encouraged to talk.
- Ensuring all learners can clearly identify any staff whom they can approach if they are worried.
- Providing mandatory training to all staff on Safeguarding young people and adults at risk, Prevent, Anti-Bullying, Autism Awareness and Equality and Diversity.
- Raising awareness of potential safeguarding issues by embedding weekly Personal & Social Development tutorials in the curriculum on Keeping Safe, Bullying, Internet Safety, Prevent, County Lines, and other topics of relevance.
- Maintaining and promoting robust procedures for reporting and dealing with allegations of abuse.
